Restart 05:59
Four years on, what have you done? Kept yourself from even treading water? No more time left in the sun I see the curtains falling as you falter When achievements are just accidents Exceptions prove the rule of failure How can you give yourself a chance When all you do is run from danger? You're on the path to disarray Still laughing with abandoned passion And as your strength is sapped away Well, what did you expect would happen?
2.
Brevity 05:30
How does it feel to watch her slip away? Sickbed a stage for all to see Does it bring you back too much? How does it feel to need a hand When no one who knows will look your way And you long for just a touch? When heaven is so close to you But move too fast, and there's nothing left Does it feel worse than hell? When she remembers the mistake As you step outside into the rain Are the sorries just a sell? How does it feel with the ghosts at your heels? The engine roars, but the road's unclear And they saved a place for you How does it feel as their laughter builds? You suffocate through their quiet refrain: "Could you feel like we do?" When you give in just to forget The flood of memories leaves your lips Do they have it all on tape? When you wake up, what will she think? You used to have a fighting chance Is it too late to escape?

about

It's been almost five years since I've made an official release under this name. Many events in my life, mostly positive, have prevented me from getting back to my favorite pastime: music composition and production.

At the beginning of 2018 I made a public resolution that I'd be putting something new out under this name by the end of the year. I was planning on quietly retiring ochrence if I wasn't able to finish a project before 2019. Thankfully I made something. I hope you enjoy it.

I am officially restarting this project with this release. Onward and upward.

credits

released December 25, 2018

All songs composed, produced, mixed, and mastered by ochrence (Ethan Craigo). All vocals and instrumental parts sung and played by ochrence. All sleep lost by ochrence.

Many thanks to Hans Tutschku for overseeing much of this project, and thanks to Lucas Wood for his indispensable advice and opinions on ochrence almost since day one. Thanks to my college roommates Wyatt, Rob, and Vaibhav, as well as my family, for putting up with me while I recorded vocals in my bedroom. Thanks to innumerable friends for listening to both these tracks to satisfy my many neuroses. Finally, credit is owed to Ben Slepp for designing the ochrence logo way back in 2012, for which I still cannot thank him enough.
